Tips & Information - Fine Lace
Fine lace must always be hand-washed or dry cleaned, and so must any garment to which it is attached. Your dry cleaner knows to exercise extreme care with delicate lace, but be certain to inform your cleaner if the lace is very old. Over extended time, especially if it has been improperly stored in humid or airless areas, lace may be subject to slight fabric rot. In such cases, even professional cleaning may risk ruining the lace. Lace must be stored in dry, well-ventilated areas that are not subject to extreme heat or cold, and should always be "aired" regularly, although never in strong sunlight. |
